Amendment I
Who Put This on the Ballot: Placed on the ballot by the legislature.
How I Am Voting and Why: I am voting yes on this Amendment. This is a technical change that is needed as a result of us abolishing the death penalty in the State of Colorado. All citizens of the State of Colorado have a constitutional right to bail. This constitutional change will remove that right for only those defendants that a judge determines the initial evidence shows that they killed a person, having had the intent to kill, deliberated and reflected on the act before killing, and acted willfully and purposefully. This does not impact any other defendant's rights unless they have met this burden.
